A Care Bear Themed Spring and Easter Bucket List for Kids

Go looking for rainbows with Cheer Bear

April showers bring May flowers, but they also bring spring rainbows! Why not head outside to splash in puddles and hunt for rainbows with Cheer Bear this spring.

Hunting for rainbows can be a great way to get the kids out of the house after being cooped up during a rainstorm. To make it even more fun, turn your afternoon into a spring scavenger hunt.

Fly kites

Flying kites used to be one of our favorite activities as kids. Pick a breezy spring day and try to get your kites flying (trust us – it’s harder than you probably remember!) Our kids love chasing kites around the park. It’s a great way to wear everyone out.

Do something nice for a neighbor or friend with Friend Bear

Friend Bear loves to do random acts of kindness for the other bears. Follow their lead this spring and choose a neighbor or friend to do something nice for. Offer to do grocery shopping for an elderly neighbor, take a meal to someone in need or buy flowers just because.

Head to the library for new Spring books to read

Visiting your local library is the perfect rainy day spring activity. Take the opportunity to refresh your Birdie’s bookshelves with some fun books about spring. Most libraries also host classes, reading days and other activities for kids of all ages. Check out your local library for upcoming events.

Sort through toys and clothes for donations

Refresh the energy in your home this spring with spring cleaning. Clutter is one of the fastest ways to make your home (and mind) feel bogged down. Encourage your kids to get involved this year. Ask them to find toys and clothes they no longer need, to give to other kids in need. Once you’ve gathered everything, make a family trip to a shelter or donation center.

Celebrate Earth Day

We know the importance of taking care of our planet, and our passion for the planet is one of the reasons we started using bamboo, one of the most sustainable sources of materials for clothing. This spring, celebrate Earth Day with us here at Birdie Bean. Use this opportunity to teach your kids about the beauty of our planet and why we need to work so hard to protect it.

Take a picnic to the park with Funshine Bear

Funshine Bear loves to be in the sun! This spring, on a sunny and beautiful day, take the family to the park for a picnic. Chop veggies, make finger sandwiches and juice boxes for the kids. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just throw a blanket down on the grass and enjoy spending time outside together.

Bake Rainbow Cupcakes

These rainbow cupcakes take a bit more time and effort to put together… but we truly couldn’t find a better spring and Care Bear themed treat. If you have a rainy afternoon to spare, put on a fun playlist and get baking. You’ll have these adorable rainbow cupcakes ready in about an hour.

Visit your local farmers market

Spring is a great time to start incorporating more color into your cooking. If your kids aren’t thrilled about vegetables… try taking a family outing to your local farmers market. Have them choose fun purple carrots or unique looking veggies they haven’t tried before. Get them excited about all the different colors and foods that are available. This is also the perfect opportunity to support local farmers.

Visit this site to learn more about the vegetables that are in season this spring! And get fun ideas of how you can incorporate them into your cooking.

Easter Sponge Painting

If you’re looking for a cute Spring and Easter activity that’s great for little kids, break out the paints for Easter Sponge Painting. Kim from the Best Ideas with Kids has some free templates that you can use to make your own sponges. Hers are all Easter-Themed but you could replicate this idea with anything spring-themed - including flowers, raindrops or Care Bears! Follow along and download her free templates here

Color Spring-themed coloring pages

Printable coloring pages are one of our favorite ‘mom hacks’. We’re always sharing our favorites with you – including special Care Bear-themed ones like these! All you have to do is print them out for an afternoon of fun, easy activities.

Get ‘eggcited’ about science with this fun experiment

Help your Birdie’s get ‘eggcited’ about science this spring. Kiwi has put together several egg-themed science experiments that make the perfect Easter activity. This kit comes with 5 colorful experiments that help make the scientific method fun.

Write thank you notes with Tenderheart Bear

Tenderheart bear is always thinking about others. His job is to spread love and make it grow! Help spread love in your community this spring by writing thank you notes.

Help your Birdie’s write thank you notes to their teachers, friends and even their friends' parents for letting them come over for playdates, sleepovers or meals together. We know as the school year comes to an end, your Birdie’s teachers will be especially grateful for a handwritten thank you card.

Make Easter-themed handprint art

We love handprint art! It’s such a cute way to memorialize our Birdie’s as they grow up. We especially love this Handprint Chick from A Little Pinch of Perfect - it captures their little hands and feet (which we haven’t seen before!) Follow along with Katie’s easy instructions here

Watch a movie on a rainy day with Bedtime Bear

Some spring days are just rainy and you want to stay home, curl up in your favorite pajamas and watch a movie. We’ll be honest with you… that’s one of our favorite activities as well. Cuddle up in our blankets, quilts and swaddles and put on your family's favorite movie. Some of our favorites include:

  • Inside Out
  • Luca
  • Encanto
  • Moana
  • Zootopia
