Fun Holiday Treats and Activities for Kids
Christmas is right around the corner and to celebrate we wanted to fill your holiday season with treats and activities that will bring the whole family together. You fell in love with our treats and activities themed around Easter this year, so we thought it was high time we brought some new ideas for this joyous season.

5 No-Bake Holiday Treats to Make as a Family
Reindeer Rice Krispies
We recently saw this adorable Reindeer Rice Krispies treat from Minque at ‘30 Days of Hand Made Treats’ and knew we had to make them this year! The end result is so cute – and they’re pretty quick and easy to make. You’ll need:
- 6 TBSP butter
- 1 10 oz pkg marshmallows
- 6 c. Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 pkg candy eyeballs
- 1 pkg M&M candies (pick out the red candies!)
- 12 oz dark cocoa candy melts

Marshmallow Snowmen & Homemade Hot Chocolate
Next up let’s make marshmallow snowmen to have with homemade hot chocolate! We found this adorable idea on Jill’s website – ‘Kitchen Fun with my 3 Sons’.
All you’ll need for your marshmallow snowmen is:
- 3 regular sized marshmallows
- chocolate cookie icing
- pretzel sticks
- candy corn

Mini Gingerbread Houses
Gingerbread Houses are a Christmas tradition! But they’re also messy and can take a lot of supplies and support from mom. That’s why we love this mini gingerbread house option from Delish! You will only need a handful of ingredients:
- graham crackers
- 1 tub vanilla frosting
- Candy, for decorating (they chose Dots, peppermints, teddy grahams, twizzlers, and red hots)

Rudolph Oreo Cookies
Another no-bake treat that’s perfect for the holidays are these cute little Rudolph Oreo cookies. We have Jamie from ‘Baking Your Happier’ to thank for this easy-to-make treat. It’s always fun to find no-bake options that the kids can get their hands dirty helping with.
To make Rudolph Oreo Cookies, all you’ll need is:
- 2 cups Chocolate Chips
- 15 Oreos
- 30 Pretzels
- 30 Candy Eyes
- 15 Red M&M's

Mini No-Bake Santa Cheesecakes
No bake so no fuss, these are the cutest Christmas cheesecakes that we have ever seen! Plus, they give us a chance to incorporate more fruit into our desserts – always a win in our house! With only 5 steps, you can put together Santa’s hat in less than 30 minutes and get the kids involved in decorating!

Now that you’re all hyped on sugar, let’s do some fun holiday crafts as a family. These crafts and activities will create lasting family memories and they might even turn into creative ways to decorate the house for the holidays!
Holiday Themed Coloring Pages
If you’re new around here, we love free printable coloring pages! We always think they are one of the best activities that you can do with the kids because everyone can pick the page they want – no fighting over coloring books! As a fun holiday tradition, you could all color the same page in your favorite colors and decorate the house with them.

Santa Advent Calendar
We know advent calendars are usually a Christmas tradition, but traditional advent calendars are filled with chocolate sweets that are full of sugar. During the holiday season you’re already surrounded by so many sweet treats, so why not create a fun Santa Advent Calendar this year instead?
The kids will love watching Santa’s beard grow the closer it gets to Christmas! We found this activity on Country Living (number 11).
To make, cut Santa’s face from craft paper. You can draw his face or they recommend cutting the elements of his face out of construction paper. Cut out his beard and write the dates leading up to Christmas on his beard. Then cut out his hat and glue it all together. Hang up and remember to keep a ball of cotton balls and glue nearby!
Paper Wreath Craft
We love crafts that capture a moment and memory – and these paper wreaths do just that! We LOVE that they incorporate your Birdie's hands into the activity because you’ll always look back at how small they used to be with fond memories.
Speaking of capturing their adorable little hands, you’re going to love this homemade Christmas ornament.
Handprint Ornaments
The whole family will have fun with this DIY Salt Dough Christmas Ornament (that you’ll be able to cherish for years to come!) They would also be thoughtful Christmas presents to gift to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other loved ones.
You’ll need these supplies:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup warm water
- Food coloring
- Rolling pin
- Pencil or straw
- Ribbon
- Scissors

Toilet Roll Reindeer Ornament
Last up we found these cute toilet roll reindeer ornaments that we just had to share with you! Now is the time to start saving those empty toilet rolls because this is the perfect way to recycle them. All you need for this Christmas craft is:
- toilet roll tubes (or paper towel rolls, wrapping paper rolls, etc.)
- brown wallpaper samples (you could use sandpaper or brown paint)
- brown pipe cleaners
- red artificial berries or red pom poms, buttons, etc.
- googly eyes
- glue
